WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL
ANNUAL STATUTORY MEETING The statutory meeting of the Waipawa County Council was held on Wednesday for the election of a chairman for the ensuing 12 months. Cr. L. McKay was unanimously re-elected for a further term. Cr. McKay l thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him and said he would do his best in the interests of the ratepayers. The question of the chairman’s honorarium was considered and Cr. Cook moved, that in the view of the times and the fact that other local bodies were making a reduction, that the amount be £5O instead of £lOO for last year. This was seconded by the chairman and carried. It was also resolved to pay the expenses for any special journey, on belalf of the council.
