FRUIT FACTORY BURNED.
SERIOUS FIRE AT MOTUEKA. Nelson, March 2. A serious fire occurred near the Motueka wharf last evening. The fruit by-products factory erected bv the Nelson District Fruit Packers, Ltd., now owned by the Government Agricultural Department and leased to T. Houlken, was totally destroyed. It was reputed to be the largest fruit by-products factory south of the line. The building contained a large quantity of valuable machinery. Some five hundred cases of dried fruit and a large quantity of vinegar was destroyed -
