DRAPERS AND CLOTHIERS’ CONFERENCE.
Dunedin. Feb. 16. The New Zealand Federation of Drapers and Clothiers held its first annual conference to-day, .1. Rennell (Auckland) presiding. Officers elected were:—President, J. Rennell: vicepresident, E. H. Wyles (Christchurch) ; member advisory board, W. Simm (Wellington), auditor, M. E. Nichols (Wellington). It was resolved that the conference affirms the desirability of closer cooperation between employer and employee and the inauguration among members of a systematic course of instructioirto encourage greater efficiency among junior members of their staffs; also that the proposal that Government be asked to institute a postage cash-on-delivery system be referred back to the local association for consideration.
