COMMONWEALTH NOTES.
In the House of Representatives Mr. Hughes, replying to a question, said there was no intention of opening Australian markets to Germans, but Germany would get a fair deal. Mr. S. Gullett, war correspondent, has been appointed, by the Commonwealth Government, Director of Immv gration in Australia, at a salary of £l5OO.
