Reeentlv the following cablegram wns received by New Zealand and Australian papers:—‘ ‘ New York announced Mannix appointed De A'alera Profissor Higher Mathematics Maynooth Collec-o, Ireland.” Commenting upon this cablegram, the Bev. J. Barry, Administrator of the Roman Catholic archdiocese of Melbourne, informed an Australian newspaper that the cable had evidently been mutilated. In the iiist place.
