MURDERERS IN AMBUBH.
POLICE PATROL SHOT DOWN
MORE RAIDS AND ROBBERIES
[ By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright.) London, May I(T. A large party of armed men ambushed a police patrol at Timoleague this afternoon. They shot dead Sergeant Flynn and two constables and .seriously wounded another constable. No arrests wqre made. Sergeant MacDonnel, who conducted the defence of the Clonoulty barracks on Mareh 31st, has been murdered near the barracks.
Four men have been sentenced to six months for shearing girls’ hair at Tuam. —(A. and N.Z.) Dublin, May 11. As the result of the ambush at Timoleague, County Cork, a police sergeant is missing. His fate is unknown. Raiders attacked the police barracks at Cliapelzed, near Dublin, on Sunday. They attempted to destroy the wireless, repeatedly firing at the operator, who miraculously escaped. Raiders robbed a mail car at Thurles carrying off documents. —(Times.)
