NEW REPATRIATION SCHE .lE. Mr. E. T. Rees, Repatriation Officer for Napier, has received intimation of a new scheme that is being developed by the Repatriation Department with leference to the “after care” of re tu re fl men. who though, actually removed from the Department’s care by their final discharge, have yet a certain claim of sentiment upon its activities by reason of their inability to find a niche in civilian life. The problem the Department has 'n hand is to seek out returned men, who either, by reason of their wouais oi by other physical disabilities, to wake lecommendation for their future ve'faie. This refers more particularly io tne care of men suffering from tubereu ar complaints and those whose cases are classed as “chronic pulmonary disease intermediate.” It is intended to introduce a complete index system, hy which a report of each man’s progress will be filed, and an officer has been appointed who will visit the various centres to co-ordinate this section of the work. The officer appointed will also visit sll men in consumptive sanatoriums and keep in touch with them after discharge.
