OBJECTED TO BY JAPAN Berlin. Feb. 4. It is reported that Japan has intimated tnat Dr. Solf will not be acceptable as Germany’s representative. . [Dr. Solf was appointed Charge d* Affaires for Germany in Tokio. Dr. Solf was formerly German Minister for Colonies and much of his official life was spent in Samu.-. where he yarned a good reputation among Europeans and Xatives. He is spoken or as being “a thorough German, but might have -been a German merchant of the older and better type.” When Germany lost her Colonies, Dr. Solf saw ms life work wasted, and it is only to be expected that he will 'eave no stone unturned in his hope to reestablish Germany’s territories.!
