MASON WINS. Wellington, Jan. 6. In tbe thirteenth round at the chess congress Mason -'beat Ewen and won the championship. Anderson beat Smith, Hicks beat Wild, and Lindsay beat Connell. Fouhy 6j Faulkner 6 Ewan 4 ? Connell 3a Smith 2 Wild U Lindsay 1 The first six competitors named are the prise winners. Results of the 13th. round.— Barnes drew with Kelling. Severne beat Faulkner. Fouhy drew with Dodds. Result of an outstanding game from 11th round. —Fouhy beat Lindsay.
