According to Berne advices from Sofia 40.000 people participated in an anti-dynastic demonstration and attacked the Royal Palace. The notice repressed the disorder, one hundred casualties resulting.—(A. and N.Z.) j ,„ , . . [On the surrender of Bulgaria to the Allies the Tsar Ferdinand abdicated and was succeeded by his sun Boris. Events compelled the abdication in turn of Boris and a Republic was proclaimed. A little time ago a number of prominent officials, including Ferdinand and the ex-Prime Minister were declared offenders against the State and when arrested are to be tried for their responsibility in connection with the war.
