SWIMMING.
ROSS IN AUSTRALIA.
Sydney, Jan. 3. Special interest was taken in the New South Wales 220 yards Swimming Championship owing to Ross, the American champion, competing. The race resulted, Ross 1, Kirkland 2, Longworth 3. Although he has not yet had time to strike full form, Ross won easily by three yards in 2 min. 32 4-5 sec. Kirkland beat Longworth by half a yard.
BACK-STROKE CHAMPIONSHIP
Sydney, Jan. . 4. The 100yds Back-stroke Championship of New South Wales was won by Beck in Imfa 16 4-ssec.
CYCLING.
SIX DAYS’ RACE CONCLUDED.
Sydney, Jan. 4. The six days’ cycling race has concluded. It was won by Spencer and Osterwitter (America), Grenda and Corry (America) second, Wells (New Zealand) with Stevens (Victoria), third. Only seven teams finished. They covered 910 inilea.
