THE COMING ELECTION.
WELLINGTON LABOUR CANDIDATES.
Wellington, July 7. The Parliamentary selection ballot, held by the Wellington Labour Representation Committee during the last week-end resulted in the return of the following as the official. Labour candidates for seats in Parliament: Mr. P. Fraser (silting member), Wellington Central; Mr. R. Semple - (sitting member). Wellington South; Mr. J. Bead, Wellington North; Mr. A. L. Monteith, Wellington East; Mr. A. W. Croskery, Welingcon Suburbs. THE NAPIER SEAT. Captain W. H. Hawkins, who recently returned from the front, aud who at one time represented Pahiatua in the House of Representatives, is spoken of as a probable candidate for the Napier seat. Strong pressure is being brought to bear on Mr. A. E. Jull, of Waipawa, to contest the seat, and to-morrow a deputation will wait on Mr. Jull with a view to persuading him to give his consent to nomination. THE MARSDEN SEAT. Whangarei, July 7.. The first candidate to announce himself for the Marsden contest at the next election is Mr. Fred Murdoch, a school teachei and settler at Ruakaka. He comes out as an independent progressive.
