MILITARY OPERATIONS Copenhagen, June 30. The Lettish Press Bureau states a German battalion of Lmowehr was three times defeated by Esthonian and Lettish troops last week, and practically destroyed. Lettish troops nave reached Jaegol, nine miles from Riga. The Germans are evacuating Riga where the Needra Ministry has been arrested. Needra fled to Libau, where he was arrested but escaped, and is now refuging with the Imperial German troops encamped six miles from Libau. —(Reuter).
A Berlin telegram states that the Ukrainian lletmau Gregorieff reports that he captured Odessa after a sanguinary battie, the Bolsheviks fleeing in disorder.

The Berlin "Kreuz Zeitung” states that General Croner has been appointed to wind up the affairs of the eastern frontier. Several Generals have resigned.

(Received 5, 10.25 a.m.) London, July 4. The workmen of I'rance and Italy have now agreed to have one day's strike on July 21. in connection vyifh the Labour Congress protest against Allied intervention in Russia.
