As the result of the attempts to assassinate prominent Americans it has been decided to round up and deport Anarchists, I.W.W.s and Bolsheviks. The Government is determined to root out Anarchists throughout the country. BOMBS MAILED TO PARIS DELEGATES (Received 3, 11.25 a.m.) New York, Maj- 2. The New York “World’s” Washington correspondent says that secret service officials have cabled the American peace delegates in Paris, warning them that bombs might have been mailed to them. MAY DAY RIOTS. New York, May 1. Soldiers and sailors stormed the May Day Labour demonstration in Madison Square. Police reserves dispersed the crowds, who left three dead. At Cleveland I.W.W. riots started when soldiers seized the Red Flag carried in the procession. (Received 3, 11.25 a.m.) New York, May 2. The New York “World’s” Boston correspondent states that three policemen were shot and a number of persons injured in May Day riots between soldiers, sailors and radicals. NO NAVAL COMPETITION. BUT A RIG FLEET NEEDED. London, May 1. Mr. J. Daniels was the guest at a luncheon at which the Duke of Connaught presided. Mr. Daniels said it would be a calamity worse than a crime if the United States and Britain entered into competition in navies. It would not be for the world’s good if any nation possessed a navy capable of dominating the world. England with her great Empire, needed a great navy, as did America with her huge coastline. Neither country need entertain suspicions regarding the other. There must never be competition between England and America.
