FRITZ’S NAVY.
HIE EASIEST WAY. London, Alarvh 3. Regarding the fate ot the Gorman warships, licuter is officially iuformea, firstly, their breaking up would take lureo years, and would fetch only £500,000j secondly, any Power taking them over viould be laced with insuperable obstacles as regards spare parts; thirdly, the ships are now obsolete; fourthly, their use as merchant vessels would be impossible, owing to the enormous coal consumption and the. dillieultics oi adapting tho interiors; ntthly. the idea oi sinking them for breakwater purposes is proved to be impracticable by Scapa Flow experiments; sixthly, if the ships are divided among the nations, some basis of division must be found, concerning which two alternatives - are suggested.—either according to war losses or on the basis of present naval strength.
