ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS. Wellington, March 19. The Acting-Prime Minister made a further statement to-day regarding announcement of the results of the licensing poll. Sir James Allen added that this did not necessarily mean that the result of the poll would be known on the night of the voting. Votes recorded at booths could be announced, but there woui-i be other votes recorded by members of the Expeditionary Force to be received later. FORM OF VOTING PAPER. A correspondent writes drawing attention to the fact that in an official advertisement (with reference to the appointment, of scrutineers) appearing in the ’Tribune” oi Tuesday’’ last the issues at the coming licensing poll are cited as (I) National Prohibition with com pensation, and (2) Continuation of the present Licensing Laws. Being concerned as to whether the Prohibitionist advocates ’appeal to the electors to “strike out the top line" may not be proceeding upon a mistake. he asks us to state the order in which the proposals will actually appear on the voting paper. The statute under which tho poll is to be taken provides that “the proposals shall be submitted in the Form No. 1 in the Schedule hereto.” The material pari of that form reads as follows :- I vote for National Continuance.

1 vote for National Prohibition with Compensation. DIRECTIONS. The voter must strike out the proposal for which lie does nd wish to vote. If the voter strikes out both or fails to strike out one of the proposals the voting paper will be void, and his vote will not be recorded.
