FROZEN MEAT TRADE. SHORTAGE OF STEAMERS. Christchurch, March 19. At the Rangiora market yesterday there were large entries of fat lambs and sheep, but freezing buyers, though present, were under instructions from their principals not to operate. Mr. Bennett, general manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, stated in an interview that the situation was largely duo to the insufficiency of the number of insulated ships. He did not think there was immediate prospect or improvement unless the Government was able to persuade the Imperial Authorities to divert some insulated steamers from Australia.
