It is the roasting of coffee-berries’ that results in the development of the: exquisite flavour so much appreciated i bv coffee-drinkers. That is well known. But it is not so well known that our X.Z. grown tobaccos, Gold Pouch and 1 Three Diamonds, aro now subjected to ; the same roasting or toasting process—and with the same result as in the case ' of the coffee-berries. The flavour is brought fully out, while at the same I time the deleterious properties of the I tobacco are destroyed. Smokers are ' unanimously in favour of the sew departure and proclaim toasted, tobacco superior to any other. But it is a healthier smoke, too, with no moisture added, or sauce, or other adulterations, which figure largely in the composition ( of foreign brands. Two full ounces for a shilling. 12
