CHAND NATIONAL MEETING. Christehurch, Au®. 15. The Canterbury - Jockey Club’s Grand National meetoiig opened today in fine wfcather, but a keen wind was blowing. The attendance was very large and the course in excellent order. The totalisator handled £60,401 os compared with £51,327 the corresponding day last year. Following are the concluding results Summer Handicap.—Leaping Burn 1, Warform 2, Ardmore 3. Also ran: King of the Valley, Primato, Rio, KimSiolton, Bomb, Point Blank, Warmth, Luff, Melford, Belgian King and Aye Ready. Melford was first away, but was quickly supplanted by Leaping Burn, who was never afterwards troubled, winning nicely by a length from Warform, who was the same distance ahead of Ardmore. Time, 1.43 4-5. SCRATCHED. Sydney, Aug. 15. Kilfoil has been scratched for the Derby.
