CASUALTIES.
Taumarnnui, Aug. 13. Mr. Manson, of the firm of Manson and Clark, saw millers, wet with a serious accident yesterday ait, Oio mill which ended fatally. Deceased was adjusting a belt arij was pulled round. His righit arm was torn off and lie was thrown with such force' 12 feet away that his right leg was broken. The stiffen r was brought t o Taumarunui hospital where his leg was amputated, but Manson died later. Deceased was formerly a Napier resident,. He leaves a widow and two children. TRAM CONDUCTOR INJURED. AVanganui, Aug. 13. Tlie first serious accident in connertion with the local trainways occurred yestcreve. A car with » t railer attached was leaving the bam w-heii the conductor, A. E. Robson, single, attempted to cross the trailer to the car and fell between. A wheel went over his legs, braking one anil badily crushing the other.
