Private E. W. Coldicutt, husband of Airs I. Coldicutt, Hastings street, Napier, is reported as having been b:,d)y wounded a.'rid (admitted Ho Hospital on September 24th. Private Coldicutt was formerly on the Government Insurance staff.

According to latest advices. Lieutenant Downie Stewart, ALP., is still under treatment in a private hospital in Sydney. He has lately undergone a slight operation, and cannot report much progress yet, being able only to take outings in an invalid chair.

Senior Sergeant Edwin Alurray, of Gisborne, has been appointed to Dunedin to fill the place of Senior Sergeant Hutton, who has been transferred to New Plymouth. Senior Sergeant Alurray w T as: district clerk in Dunedin for a number of years, ’being transferred from here to Auckland some six or seven years -ago.

The death has occurred in his 89th year, of Air William Robert Parmenter, an old resident of Nelson. De ceased was born in Essex, and with his first wife and family arrived in Nelson in the Annie Longton in 1860. One of his daughters is the wife of Air Gordon Noble-Camp-bell, manager for the Government. Insurance Depariinent, lateljr at Napier and now at Invercargill.

Airs T. Smith, of 820 Avenue-road west. Hastings, has received a letter from the Afinister of Defence (Hon. James Allen) notifying her that her son Gunner E. A. T. White has been (awarded -the Alil'itarv medal for gallentry on the field of action in ; 'France. Gunner Whit-e left Hastthgs with the 7th Reinfoi:cements, and his many friends will be pleased to learn' of the honour that has been conferred on him.
