The field got- away slowly, Bon Reve taking the lead, a position he maintained for some distance, leading Tressida past the stand, with the rest of the field close up. At the back stretch Bon Reve fell back and Tressida assumed command, Sasanog being in the rear. At the entrance to the straight Multifual, Chortle and Indigo were the order, with Sasanoff fast coming through. Indigo shortly afterwards fell, injuring his rider and a great race resulted in Multifual winning by a bare length second and third horses dead heat. Time, 2min. 35secs.
