A LL members of the 9th (Hawke's Bay) Regiment who failed to attend the Regiment’s main camp are hereby warned to parade as under.— Napier, Gisborne and W’airoa districts, at 4 p.m. on -May 9th, at Drill Shed, Napier. Hastings and district, 4 p.m. on May 9th, at Drill Shed, Hastings. Names of all absentees will be handed to the police for prosecution within 24 hours of opening of camp. F. A. Notice is hereby given that the Havelock North Town Board has issued out of the Magistrate’s Court at Hastings a Summons against the owner of the land known as Section numbered 23 Havelock North for the recovery of rates amounting to £6 15 1 in respect of the said section oi land. The last owner of the land appears to have been Wi Rang: Rangi of Wainia- ■ rama an Aboriginal Native of New Zealand who is now believed to be dead. The hearing of the Summons has been fixed tor the 22nd da of May 1917. By direction of the Magistrate a copy of the Summons has been posted on the land and a copy of it may also be seen at any time during office hours at the office of the Magistrate’s Court in Hastings. Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce. Wellington, 24th April, 1917. ASSISTANCE TO 'WHEAT-GROWERS THIS Department will grant assistance as follows to those desirous of growing wheat this season : —• SEED AND/OR MANURES. Farmers and others willing to grow wheat, but requiring financial backing for the purpose, will, on applying to the Fields Supervisor for their district, be furnished with a letter guaranteeing, on behalf of the Department, payment after the harvest to any merchant or other vendor for the seed wheat and/or manure supplied. On receipt of the Government guarantee the applicant can forward it to any merchant or other vendor, and make his own arrangements with him. Full particulars and forms of application can he obtained at any of the principal offices of the Department. AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS. In any cases where one or more settlers are certified by a local Board of National Efficiency Trustees to have an area of not less than 500 acres of wheat land suitable for a tractor, and wish to purchase one for growing that acreage of wheat, the Department will advance the funds on condition that the amount is repaid on terms to be arranged between the farmer and the Department. Applications, giving full particulars, and accompanied by the Trustees’ certificate, should be made to the Secretary of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce, Wellington, and should state what terms of repayment and interest would be acceptable to the applicant.
