It seems to us, that the political world is becoming more and more ungenerous, as if the one thing, the .supreme art, in political life is to deny every virtue and ascribe every crime to your opponent, never to give him credit for high motives or due performance. “Be bitter, for he who shrieks loudest is the mosu bitter, and can abuse with the most vitriol.” This seems to be the maxim of the modern political world, and it is only he who is most bitter who is to be your leader. —Bishop Long (Bathurst).
