CENTRAL A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

(Own Correspondent). A meeting of the above Association was held in the Council Chambers, Waipukurau, on Thursday last. There were present: Mr. G. 1 Hunter, M.P., in the chair, Messrs E. Broad, R. Dougall, R. Falconer, I J. Main, W. G. Paterson, A. C. Prentice, J. Todd and J. W. Elliott. I The business of the meeting was! to proceed with arrangements for the coming show. The co-operation of helpers to secure another financial success so that the patriotic funds may benefit, is an appeal which is meeting with response. The president of the local branch of the Red Cross Society wrote suggesting that the ladies of the district might arrange to run the luncheon and tea booths. It was resolved to thank the ladies for their offer of assistance and the following sub-committee was deputed to confer with the ladies in carrying out the necessary arrangements: Messrs Paul Hunter, E. Broad, J. D. Ormond jnr., W. G. Paterson, J. Shand and J. D. Todd. It was proposed to arrange for another sale of gift stock at the show for the patriotic funds. The following committee was appointed to carry the project through: Messrs P. Hunter, D. Canning, G. Merrikin, T. A. Nutt, C. Pattison, J. D. Todd, L. McHardy, A. Parsons, J. Hobson, W. Yardley, J. D. Ormond jnr., and J. W. Harding. Mr. Elliott was elected secretary to the committee. The final revision of the schedule was proceeded with. Maiden Hunters’ competition and single harness horse classes were retained, and it! was decided to pay a money prize I for the best child rider in both their j classes. A new class was made for the best Berkshire sow, with a litter of six, not more than eight weeks old. Authority was given for the payment of £lOO to the Soldiers’ Xmas Gift Fund.
