“PEG ©’ MY HEART.” Messrs. J. and N. Tait are bringing their wonderfully successful comedy “Peg o’ my Heart” to the Hastings Municipal Theatre next Saturday. The completely new English company which is at present appearing in Australia is headed by a. brilliant Irish actress. Miss Sara Allgood, who has performed the role of Peg in England for hundreds of nights, also in Sydney and Melbourne where she broke the record for a play of this nature. The cast which consists of first-class English players, is a wellselected one, and the production of the piece is in the hands of Mr. E. AV. Morrison, the well known producer, who was here some years ago. The box plan for this one performance will open at Hall’s on Thursday morning.
“Jeanne Dore,” the great picture founded on Tristian Barnard’s play of the same name will be screened at the Municipal Theatre to-morrow night. The whole _ story is full of poignant pathos, which is presented with undeniable power and conviction. Though this great artiste has appeared on the screen before “Jeanne Dore” will be generally accepted as the most complete and satisfactory record of her incomparable art that has yet been presented and is a striking instance of what can be expressed by means of the wordless drama, when interpreted by a consummate artist. In “Jeanne Dore” she has been able to avail herself of most of the members of the original cast from the Bernhardt Theatre, Paris, and as a consequence the success of this magnificent portrayal was assured from the start. The plan will be open at Pratt’s to-morrow morning and intending patrons are respectfully requested to book their seats. The prices will remain as usual.
