It doesn’t follow that we are dropping any of the old favourites, but we think it is due to the little ones to bestow on them more than a passing recognition, especially as it has already been decided to devote the net proceeds of the “Mardi Gras” to a fund to establish a MATERNITY WARD IN NAPIER. Take any nursery rhyme you like and put it on in tableau form in the procession. You have a big field to work on, and the best point about it is that it can- be done cheaply, yet effectively, and you will have something very striking to work on. Then there is the competition for Amateur PIERROT AND COSTUME COMEDYCONCERT COS. Five competing Companies already announced, including one from Auckland and another from Hastings.
