The British Medical Journal gives details of a refttarkable invention whereby it is possible in broad daylignt to obtain detailed pictures of the brain, liver, kidneys, the spleen and other organs of the body, and to see lesions, such as a blood clot on the brain and abscesses on the liver. Toe pictures have been obtained by utilising currents of electricity, which the body is believed to generate. The machinery was invented by Sergeant James Shearer, R.A.M.C., on active service. The patient is laid on a deal table and the current is turned on for sixtyseconds. A record of the living organ is produced on a wax sheet, from which the photographs can be produced. The photographs show the blood-vessels of the brain in wonderful detail. The apparatus only works while the body is alive.
