EXPORT OF CROSSBRED WOOL

ELIMINATION OF FOREIGN COMPETITION. ■ PK3, PKKnS H-<sl’l;iAllON. i Wellington, Nov. 1. The New Zealand Government is advised by the Imperial authorities to ensure that ail crossbred wool is snipped io London or to such other Allied ports as the Imperial Govern,jl may advise. Provision is made for the export of a limited quantity to America but the effect of the order is practically to eliminate American competition from wool sales in the Dominion this season. Last year an exactly similar direction was received but it did not take effect until a number of tjie sales had been held at which the Americans bought most of the wool they required and they were allowed to snip this wool already purchased. This gave the New Zealand wool growers the advantage of such enhancement of prices as might have been caused by American competition, air advantage which they will not have this year.
