(Ou n Correspondent.) AA’ord has been received by Mrn. Powell, senior, that her two grandsons, AValter and Gordon Gibb, were both wounded on the same day, somewhere in France. Sergeant AA'alter Gibb was attached to the mounted corps and did good service in Egypt before being despatched to France. Both Rifleman Gordon Gibb and Joe AVedd have been invalided home, and are expected to arrive here before Chrstmas. The annual meeting of the directors of the Otane Saleyards Company was held last week. The bal-ance-sheet, which was adopted, showed a substantia] credit balance on the year’s working. Considerable discussion took place as to whether a dividend s'>mild be paid to shareholders this year. It was eventually decided to recommend the shareholders to provide sufficient for necessary repairs, etc., and to transfer the balance to tlie reserve fund. Mr. R. H. Tod. chairman of directors, tendered his resignation, having enlisted for active service. Mr. Tod was congratulated on offering his services to the Empire, and complimented on the interest that he had taken and the good work that he had done for the compapy. Mr. Tod’s resignation is to be dealt with at the annual meeting of shareholders to be held next month.
