Jn the Reichstag, Count von Roedern, Minister of Finance, moving the vote credit for £600,000,000, said the war credits hitherto passed amount to £2,600,000;000. For the fifth war loan, £526,000,000, there were about 4,000,000 subscribers. The total expenditure of all belligerents he estimated at £12,500,000,000, whereof one-third fell to Germany and her allies. The vote was passed, despite opposition from the Democratic Labour Union.
