CHRISTMAS GIFT “AT HOME.”

The Christmas Gift “.\i Home,” organised by the Ladies’ Committee of the Hastings Y.M.C.A.. yesterday afternoon, passed oif most successfully. The rooms were tastefully decorated for the occasion bj T an energetic band of workers. An interesting programme was arranged. Songs were ably contributed by Mrs. Christie, Mrs. Perrin, Mrs: McDuff Boyd, and Miss Gray, and a monologue by Mrs. Lewis, every item) being loudly applauded. Mrs. Morrie Wood and Mrs. Boyd were the efficient accompanists. An observation table, presided over by Mrs. H. E. Beamish, formed a great attraction. The first prize was gained by Mrs. F. C. Griffiths and second by Miss Jessie Mitchell. Miss Evans was kept busy with her fortune telling. Dainty afternoon tea w’as served. Splendid business w r as done in selling flowers and lollies. The pleasant proceedings resulted in about 150 articles being given, which will bring cheer to the members of the association who are fighting for King and Country.
