NOTES AND MEMOS.

Wanted for Napier, a good motor driver.

J. A. Miller inserts his Clive Grange sale entries for Monday. Patrons are requested to note that the sale commences at 12.30 p.m. There will be no sale at the Orwell saleyards on Friday next.

The public are reminded that the attractive unreserved clearing sale on account of Mr. J. Brien commences at 12 noon to-morrow, and those about to furnish, or farmers, should be on the premises sharp to secure the many bargains that will be offered. Beard, Bullen and Co. advise that the whole of the lots are in excellent condition, and as Mr. Brien has sold his farm, everything will be sold to the highest bidder. The piano to be sold is a particularly fine instrument, and the silver ware and cut glass, etc., form a very choice selection seldom sold under the hammer. See auction advt. on page 8. At the age of from 40 to 45 the eye muscles have lost their elasticity to such an extent that glasses for close work and reading are required to prevent strain. Your eyes accurateh tested and the correct lenses prepared at H. M. Bennett’s, Ophthalmic Optician, Napier, and at Union Bank Chambers, Hastings on Tuesdays.*
