SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Sydney, Oct. 23. At the wool sales there was a strong market for all descriptions. Greasy merinos fetched 20ia, crossbreds to 213 d. DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET. (Special to the “Tribune.”! Dunedin, Oct. 20. Messrs. Bray Bros, (of Dunedin). Ltd. report as follows for the week ending October 21st, 1916. The following prices were realised during the week:—Apples, Californian 13/- to 17/- per case, Stunners (local) 16/G per case, Bockwoods 4}d to 6d per lb; bananas, 16/6 to 19/- per case for choice samples - oranges, Valentias 30/- per easel: mandarins, 22/- per case; lemons, Auckland 11/- per case, Mildura IS/- to 20/6 per case; tomatoes, Christchurch hothouse 1/3 per lb, Raratongan 10/- per case; asparagus 4/6 per lb; peanuts 3j(d per lb, walnuts 1/- ptftdoz; peanuts 3?d lb, walnuts 1/- per flowers 7/- to 10/- per sack. Poultry: Hens 3/6 to 4/- per pair, cockerels 6/-. per pair, ducks 4/6 to 5/- per pair, turken hens 81-d per lb (live weight), gobblers IOJd per lb. Bacon, pigs 140’s to 160’s 7d per lb, porkers 7jjd per lb.

HORSE SALE. Messrs. Hoad'.ey, Sou and Stewart, Ltd., report having held their Annual Show Horse Sale at _ their Karamu yards, Hastings, on Friday and Saturday last, 20th and 21st. On the two days they yarded 468 horses of all classes to a large attendance of the public. Although bidding was not of a spirited nature the majority of the yarding changed hands but in most cases at prices in favour of purchasers. The firm report as follows:—Heavy and medium young draught mares and geldings £3O to £5O, unbroken do £22 to £34, aged medium and heavy draughts £lO to £32, spring carters £2O to £27 10/-. good harness horses £l2 to £l7, hacks and harness horses £3 to £l4, unbroken backs and harness horses £3 to £ll, unbroken ponies £4 to £lO 10/-. HASTINGS SATURDAY MARKET. Beard, Bullen and Co. report the following re their Saturday market sale: — We offered a good yarding of dairy stock on Saturday last, the following sales being effected : —Holstein cow in profit £l3 15/-, Shorthorn heifer in profit £l2 10/-, Jersey-Holstein heifer (springing) £lO 16/-, 1 £ll 5/-, Jersey heifer in profit £7 5/-, 1 £9 12/6, empty cow £6 10/-, Holstein cow in profit £ll 7/6, Jersey cow in profit £8 5/-, Short-horn-cross heifer (springing) £l3, cow £7 5/-, Jersey-Holstein cow in profit £lO 10/-, Shorthorn heifer in profit £l2 5/-. Very large consignments of poultry again came to hand, fat table hens making up to 6/6 per pair, light sorts 4/6 to 6/-, p.b. hens (laying) fetched from 5/- to 11/-, cockerels 5/- to 10/-; ducks 5/- for light to 11/- for heavy sorts. Hens with broods fetched 12/to 21/-, young chicks up to 2/-, all per pair. Fruit and Produce: Dessert apples 3/6 to 5/6, cookers 4/- to 6/- per half-case; prime table potatoes made to 20/-, others 11/- to 18/-, seed potatoes 8/- to 12/6, pig potatoes 1/3 to 2/9, all per sack: bran (180) 8/6, pollard (180) 16/6, barley 12/- to 14/-, maize cobs 6/9 to 8/-, oats up 4o 17/-, prime B.S. onions IJd per lb. Flesh vegetables met with good sales. _ Fair sales of farm and garden sundries are reported. Harness, galvanised tanks, dog carts and implements sold at good prices. During the week the same firm held a good sale on account of Mr. J. Phair, all lots selling at splendid prices.
