LATE SPORTING.
TRENTHAM MEETING. Trentham, Oct. 24. The Spring meeting of the Wellington Racing Club was continued today in dull windy weather. The attendance was fairly large. Results :— Hack Steeples.— Happy Jack 1, Rerekohu 2, Silver Monarch 3 Scratched : The Hound. Kauwairoa fell at the first fence and had to be destroyed. Critic _ar.d Ruatangata also came down. on by twelve lengths, twentv lengths between second and third. Time, smin, Irsee. Tarurua Handicap.—Rose Pink I. Sir Agnes 2. Devotion 3. Scratched : Miss iJeval and Golden Grafton Won by a length. A short head between second and third. Time. Imin 41 2-ssecs.
Spring Trial. —Splendant 1, Glen Helen 2. Ima Ribbon 3. Scratched i Prince Delaware. Record Breaker, Hine Toa. Revalenta, Wapping, Benope, Gaiora, and Black Lake. Won by a length, third horse a length and a half away. Time, Imin. It 2-ssec.
