TRENTHAM MEETING. Trantham. Oct. 23. The Wellington J.C. Spring meeting opened to-day in blustery weather. The going was in good order and there was a large attendance. Results:— Hunters’ Steeplechase.—Kiwitea 1 Critic 2, Kauwairoa 3. Won by a head, four lengths (separating second and third horses. Ruatangata fell, and The Hound and Fond Memory ran off the course. Time, smin, 47 3-ssecs.

liimutaka xxandicap. — Splendant 1, Devotion 2, Tnoughtful 3. Scratched : Tango, Rose Pink, Merry Dale and Ima Ribbon. Won by a head and three-quarters. A length between 2nd and 3rd. Time, Imtn. 30 3-ssecs.
