A trawler skipper, named James Brown, was courtmartialled at Plymouth, charged with neglecting to engage an enemy submarine and failing to proceed to the assistance of a British schooner. Evidence showed that the submarine attacked and sunk the schooner. It was alleged tfhat the accused did not attempt to save the crew or pursue the submarine. The court found that the charges of cowardice and neglect were not proved, but accused was guilty’ of neglecting to engage the enemy and was dismissed the service. TWO NEUTRAL VESSELS DESTROYED.
