Austrians Abandon Gorizia.

OFFICIAL.—We captured an extensive entrenchment at Carso, east of Gradisca, dominating the eastern entrance to Cappuccio wood and access to San Marino. ['he Italians bombarded the Borgo-T.evico railway, west of Trient, destroying 13 kilometres, and sei fire to a train carrying troops at Roveredo 20 miles south of Trient), in which 500 Austrians perished. The Austrians then tried to get munitions through by a junction line, but the Italian gunners blew up eight wagons. Rome, Aug. 6. After eight successive attacks the Italians captured several kilometres of Austrian trenches at. Palazzo (33 miles north of Udine). The bombardment: of Gorizia continues. The .Austrians have virtually abandoned the town, which is ready to l>e blown up the moment the Italians enter. Vienna, Aug. 6. OFFICIAL. —The Italian attack on Monte Croce was repulsed with great slaughter. the enemy retreated partially m flight to the woods south of the border stream. Newspapers express satisfaction at 1 lie arrest of Baron von Gumpenberg, one of the leaders of German espionage. He was captured by a British cruiser in the Mediterranean. Von Gumpenberg during the Tripoli campaign was one of the organisers of contraband arms and munitions to the rebels.
