RUGBY. [PEB PRPSS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Sept. 23. The New Zealand Rugby Union met this evening. The Waihi Union wrote with reference to the applications of W. Castleton. S. Scott and W. Sinclair for reinstatement, those players having allegedly played under Northern Union rules. It was decided to take no further action in regard to Scott and Sinclair, and to ask for further particulars concerning Castleton’s case. The Wairarapa Union reported that IV. Redmond had been disqualified for twelve months from August 29th, 1911. for refusing to play in a representative team, and also with ‘‘not giving sufficient notice or satisfactory excuse.” Members eonsider-

ed that the Wairarapa Lnion was establishing a bad precedent. Tim player might have had ample reasons for not playing that he did not desire to make public. It was resolved to write the W airarapa Union asking for further particulars. Wairarapa Union' also wrote notifying that H. F. Bird had been disqualified until May 31st, 1915, for “passing remarks on a referee s decision.”

The manager of the team which lately • toured Australia (Mr. R. Al. Isaacs) submitted a report of the tour, in which he stated that the behaviour of the team throughout was very good. As far as injuries were concerned the. team was most unfortunate, the following members at one time or another being under a doctor’s care : —-O’Brien, R. Roberts. Loveridge, Weston, Taylor, McKenzie, Black, E. Roberts, Graham. Bruce, Lindsay, Barrett. Murray, and Francis. The team was treated most hospitably’ in Sydney. The weather for the first- test match was bad, but notwithstanding this the takings at the gate amounted to £450. The gate at the second test realised £387. The report was adopt ed, members expressing apprecia tion at the success of the team.
