HUNTLY DISASTER RELIEF FUND.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —in order to make amp]? provision for the dependants of those who lost their lives in the recem, catastrophe at Huntly, it was defined at a representative meeting of Labour men held m Wellington on September 17th, to inaugurate a National fund to be known as the Huntly Disaster Relief Fund. To ■ensure the success of tins most worthy project, the assistance oi lour valuable paper is sought.’ it has been decided that the headquarters of the fund be in V, cllmgloii, from winch centre the National Committee wi.l, acting upon the advice of a representative local committee in Huntly, administer assistance to all entitled to it. Already appeals have been issued
to Ministers Associations, various churches, labour organisations, lacing clubs, and all other bodies that mignt assist in any way. ilie eoiiiiiiiiteo xeels certain that, despite the Heavy uonauons made io me Patriotic Puna, the people ot New Zealand wit; liberally respoiiu to assist the widows ano orphans whose breadwinners wtie suatciiea by death under such tragic circumstances. 111 c following nave been appointed as a management committee of the fund : —A. 11. E. Holland, b. Gordon, trustees ; Alessrs. Jaracv (Shearers), P. H. Hickey, W. Noot (Tramways). G. Blatherwick (C arpenters); A. Croskery (Drapers), anil Y\. YY aterwortk ( Tailors), committee.
