STQRTFORD. LODGE SALE. At the usual weekly sale held at Stortford Lodge ‘yards yesterday there was .an unusually small yartiing of stock. A feature of the sale was the offering on account of Mr. Stephen Menzies of .fbv r fat eows, the proceeds of which were to be donated to the war funds. These realised on Mr. Menzies' account £33 5/-. Mr. H. J. H. Glazebrook, who purchased one at £lO, donated it back to the fund, aar did Air. W. P. Thompson, whp purchased another at £7, total £5O 5 '-. A dairy heifer was donated by Mi’. C. Hart, and this realised £5 10 -. The most striking feature of the side was the selling of the sheep, the proceeds of which also went to the war fund. It was' announced that for next week’s sales at Stortford Lodge, AA’aipukurau and Onga Onga, entries would be received on behalf of those wishing to donate stock to the war fund, no commission or yard fees being charged by the auctioneers.
