CANADA. HELPFUL TO BEI.GH’M. PORTS CLOSED AGAINST RAIDS Otaawa, Aug. 11. The authorities haw given the Belgian Government a guarantee against all risks on grain shipped to Belgian ports. The ports of Montreal, Quebec and Halifax haw been closed as a precautionary measure against possible raids. NEWFOUNDLAND AWAKE. Ottawa, Aug 10. Newfoundland has increased her naval and militvy forces and has offered 500 men for overseas duly. TRANSPORT OF TROOPS. (Received 12. 12.30 p.m.) Ottawa, Aug. 11. The Admiralty has cancelled the sailings of the principal ARan line of steamers. It is understood the ships are intended to cany troops and reservists from Canada to England. Owing to the rush to enlist, the Ottawa authorities are raising the standard and only picked troops will be sent from Canada. PROVINCIAL OFFERS. (Received 12. 12.30 p.m.) Ottawa, Aug. 11. Alberta province has offered a full war supply of Albertan oats for the British army. British Columbia is offering, supplies of apples ojid canned salmon tor the British troops.
