The Press Bureau circulates the following:—The Austrians are ad vancing from Cracow, on the Hun-garian-Russian frontier, towards Kielce, in Russian territory, about 60 miles north of the frontier. GERMAN OUTRAGES IN POLAND. (Received 12, 9.10 ann.) St. Petersburg. Aug. 11. An eye-witness states that on the German commander’s order the Mayor of Kalisz in Poland, was nearly Beaten to death. The Town Council’s messenger was shot for fetching the Mayor a mattress and pillow . The manager of the local treasury was also shot. The Germans made hostages, of the principal inhabitants and fired on the civilians, many of whom were killed. DUCHESS OF'LUXEMBURG. PERSONALLY PROTESTS. BRUTALLY TOLD TO G.O HOME. (Received 12, 9.15 a.m.) Paris, Aug. 11. The Grand-Duchess of Luxemburg personally protested against the entrance of the German troops, and an officer brutally bade her go home. He drew his revolver and the GrandDuchess withdrew, announcing the fact by telegraph to the Kaiser. OUR ENEMIES’ AGGRESSION. (Received 12. 9. a.m.) St. Petersburg, Aug. 11. Official despatches precedent t<« the war disclose the provocative aggression of Austria. and Germany ami the attempt to fix the responsibility of the war on Russia. The despatches prove the Czar did his uttermost to avert war. The Czar has telegraphed to the King of the Belgians expressing his admiration of his valiant soldiers. DUMA’S APPRECIATION. London, Aug. 10. The Duma sent a message to theHouso of Commons to the effect that Russia receives with transport the powerful support of Great Britain. May God. bless the courageous arms of the Entente which is defending a finble and just cause.
