HAWKE’S BAY HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD
The Hawke’s Bay Hospital and Charitable Aid Board met on Monday. Present: Messrs. W. Shrimpton (chairman). J. A. Miller, C. H. Cranby. T. E. Crosse. F. Moeller, G. A. Macdonald, and T. Mason Chambers. The following recommendations from the Finance Committee were adopted:—Extra supplies of dressings to be procured; increased salaries to be paid to junior members of office staff. The committee reported that there was a credit ba) ance against the ordinary account of £636 16/3, and an overdraft on the building account of £3OOO. It was decided to defer for the present the erection of new buildings. The matron was authorised to call for applications for the position of charge nurse to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Nurse Brayshaw. The usual monthly reports were received and adopted. The secretary reported that 10-'-7 outdoor rations were issued during July as compared with 1136 for the previous month. Accounts amounting to £2371 19,10 were passed for payment.
