Mr. Brace, Labour member for Glamorgan, speaking at Cymmer, said that the miners’ policy for 1915 was to eliminate spasmodic , action and move as a united body throughout the country and in the House of Commons. If Parliament did not; agree to their request the miners of the United Kingdom would take a peaceful holiday.
WESTPORT WATERSIDERS. HAVE THE MEASURE OF THE REDS. Westport, May 5. A meeting of watersiders was held at Westport last evening to discuss a circular received from the conference of arbitration unions held in Wellington last month, which passed a resolution urging a confeernce of all unions for July 7th. The meeting passed a resolution refusing to participate in the conference, and pointing out that the whole scheme Vias initiated by the Federation of Labour,” “a federation that stands for destruction and not for construction, that spreads disunity rather than unity, whose most effective weapon is intimidation and abuse, and whose ultimate aim is the confiscation ef_ all existing social and political rights, should oe, in our opinion, considered only as a memory of the bitter past.’
