Mr. Cecil Barford, of Waipawa, also Mr. George Staunton, of Onga Onga, are both critically ill, causing their relatives apd friends considerable anxiety.* A mission is being conducted at the Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Tuohy, who is an eloquent preacher and attracting large cun gregations.
A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Peter’s Church on Friday by the Rev. F. W. Whibley. the contracting parties being Mr. Joseph Henry Luxton andY Miss MatiMa Mayberry.
A farewell social is to be tender ed next Thursday to the Rev. F. W. Whibley, _ who has been in charge of the Waipawa Anglican parish for the past six months. » A claim of £5Ol for alleged libel is preferred by Dr. Edward Deck against Dr. J. Lewis Reed. Mr. B. J.
