The Conciliation Council further considered the gasworks employees’ dispute. Mr. H. Hunter, on- rhe union assessors, stated that at the time of the adjournment <;f the case the company had dismissed W. Wendelken.

Another assessor said that such action had placed the union assessors in a difficult position.

A representative cf the Gas Company said the matter was outside the jurisdiction or the council and the company was justified in its action.

The Commissioner said he had investigated the ease and was satisfied that the dismissal was not connected with the case.

Wcndelken protested that he had been treated harshly.

An agreement was reached on many cf the demands brought forward bv the union.
