TOURNAMENT AT GISBORNE. Gisborne, June 26. The Gisborne Boxing Association opened 3ts championship tournament to night. Results : — Feather-weight. N. Bennetts (Auckland) beat A. Parkinson (Gisborne) cn points. A. Adair (Gisborne) beat J. Sutherland. Semi-final: H. Ireland (Maipawa) beat Bennetts. Welt er weight. Final: J. Mitchell (Auckland) beat G. Richardson (Gisborne) cn points, l.ighe weight. W. Ireland (Waipawa) beat F. Bliss (Waikato). Bliss knocked Ireland down for eight in the first round, but Ireland practically knocked Bliss out in the third round with a heavy right to point. The referee stepped the fight. V. Frure (Gisborne) beat J. Burch (Gisborne) in two rounds. Heavy weight.
P. McQuarric (Southalnd) boat 11, Sandow (.Auckland) on points. Middle-weight.
Cate (Gisborne) beat O’Connor (Gisborne) on points. J. Mitchell (Auckland) beat T. Long (Christchurch) on points.
