THE ENGLISH DERBY. DESCRIPTION OF THE RACE. (Received 5, 2.5 p.m.) London, June 4. The race for the Derby was run in brilliant weather. Their Majesties and the Duke of Connaught were present, and there was a record crowd. From an excellent start Aboyeur dashed away and Craganotir moved into second place. Descending Bush’s Hill Aboyeur was still leading. At Tottenham Corner cTaganour, Shogun and Day Comet following Louvois, joined issue. At the distance a tremendous tussel resulted. Cr.aganour, challenging the leader, won a bumping finish by a head, with Louvois a neck behind Aboyeur. Wootton, on Shogun, was unlucky. He attempted to get through on the inside twice, but failed. Time 2min 37 3 ssec.

A. P. Cunliffe, the owner of Aboyeur, declined to lodge a protest, but the stewards took the initiative and examined J. Reiff, who was rid ing Craganour, and Piper, the rider of Aboyeur.
