•PARS’’ FROM YESTERDAY’S MEETING. Nir. F. Black, consulting engineer to the Napier Borough Council, reported that rim cars for the tramway system would reach Napier cn June 9th. Nir. Swinburn. overseer of the tramway works in Napier, has arranged to give lectures to the Napier Fire Brigades upon the electric mains, etc. There were 132. loads of rubbish ami five loads ■of nightsoil removed from tlie Napier Borough during l.'i.--! month. The Sanitary Inspector reported .that during the past month 21 permits w«-re issued for drainage work. 13 for sanitary plumbing. 12 licenses v. ere renewed and one new license was issued to a drain connector. Tim sum of ,£-3 1/6 was paid for 246 rats in Napier Borough last month. Water pumped in Napier Borough last month totalled 15.102,764 gallons. Returns from Napier abattoir show that during last month slaughtering was as follows : —Cows 105. huHccks 'B4, sheep 1832. pigs 32, lambs 141. calves 42. Condemned: Cowss. bullocks 2. pigs 1. calves 1. During last month the takings at the Napier Municipal Baths totalled £lO 3 2. Practically all takings were for hot salt water baths. A reward of two pounds is to be offered by the Napier Borough Council for information concerning damage done to tiie pavilion on Nelson Park. Nir. F. Black has reported that the cost of heating the Napier Barks by electricity would be prohibitive.
